How to Fix Instagram Not Linking to GoHighLevel (Fast & Easy Fix!)

June 05, 20252 min read

If you've tried to connect your Instagram account to GoHighLevel (also known as LeadConnector) and it’s not showing up, you’re not alone. You follow all the steps, click the connect button, but under Instagram Messenger, it shows nothing.

Here’s the fix—and yes, it’s a hidden Facebook permission issue.

The Problem

You connected GoHighLevel to your Facebook account. You thought everything was fine. But when you go to add Instagram in GoHighLevel under settings, nothing shows up. No accounts. No option to connect. Just… nothing.

After hours of searching, the solution was buried in a Reddit comment by Riddle Technology. So we’re bringing it to light in a simple, clear walkthrough.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Go to Facebook Business Integrations

First, make sure you're logged into the same Facebook profile that manages your business assets.

Then, go to this link:
📎 Facebook Business Integrations

This is where Facebook manages all the third-party tools that have access to your account—including GoHighLevel/LeadConnector.

2. Find “LeadConnector” or “GoHighLevel”

On the left menu, scroll to Business Integrations.

  • Locate LeadConnector in the list

  • Click View and Edit

3. Adjust Your Permissions

Once inside the LeadConnector settings:

  • Check all business managers you want access for

  • Expand the Instagram accounts section

  • Select all relevant Instagram accounts

  • Grant full permissions (post access, message access, etc.)

Important: By default, Facebook doesn’t auto-grant these Instagram permissions even if you’ve previously connected GoHighLevel.

4. Go Back to GoHighLevel

Now return to your GoHighLevel dashboard:

  • Head to Settings > Integrations

  • Look under Manage Pages

  • You should now see your Instagram account(s)

  • Click Connect and you’re good to go

Everything should now sync properly—Instagram DM access, Facebook page integration, the whole package.

Final Notes

This small but critical permissions step can save you hours of confusion. It’s not your fault—Facebook just hides it.

“I hope you find this fix faster than I did,” said the original poster—and we hope so too.

If this helped you, share it with your team or leave a comment if you run into issues. GoHighLevel is a powerful tool—but sometimes the tech needs a manual override.
